How to read this result
The test measures your connection to the nearestCloudflare edge, using the same public endpoints their own speed test uses. That makes it a good measure of real-world internet performance, but it is a route to one network — not a universal figure, and not the same as the number on your ISP contract.
Browser-based tests also sit above the operating system’s networking stack, so Wi-Fi conditions, VPNs, other devices on the same line and browser overhead all affect the number. For a reliable baseline, run it a few times over a wired connection.
